The Physio-Control Shock Advisory Adapter helps first responders without experience in ECG interpretation administer shocks to a patient before the arrival of the hospital ACLS team. Designed for use with LIFEPAK 9 defibrillator/monitor devices, the Shock Advisory Adapter permits these units to function as automated advisory defibrillators, enabling first responders to begin defibrillation quickly and easily. The Shock Advisory Adapter uses the Physio-Control Shock Advisory System, a sophisticated microprocessor which reads and analyzes a patient's ECG rhythm.
