Microprocessor logic and a unique Touch- keyboard make this the easiest- EKG we've ever made.

The E 200 microprocessor automatically controls all important operating functions. It turns on guide lights in the Touch-Entry keys that tell you instantly which lead is being recorded. The Touch-Entry keys are the latest in membrane switches, and each one has an embossed frame that isolates it for easy location - a Burdick exclusive.

Easy to test.
The Burdick E 200 makes retakes a thing of the past.  It tests its microprocessor circuitry every time it's activated and 'beeps' that everything checks. And it will print out a test strip, on command, that shows how seven vital functions are performing.

This self-check trace assures that the E 200 will deliver accurate results every time.

Someday, all electronic medical instruments may have such time- and cost-saving self-check features. The Burdick E 200 has them today.

You'll find detailed explanations of all the important E 200 functions inside. Once you see how easily it can reduce retakes, improve productivity, and minimize paper usage, you'll call it 'The Easy EKG' too.

One touch will tell you this is the EKG of the future.
The Burdick E 200 control panel is unlike any other. Its Touch-Entry keys are the latest in membrane switches that respond to your touch instantly with a "beep" to acknowledge your commands. And each Touch-Entry key has an embossed frame that isolates it for easy location. Burdick's Touch-Entry system was designed to make your job easier by making the E 200 the easiest-operating EKG we've ever offered.Graphics (p.3-3)

It prints a patient i.d. code of up to ten digits.
An exclusive feature of the E 200 is its ability to print a unique patient identification code on every EKG tracing for permanent, accurate patient record correlation. Up to ten digits may be easily entered on the Touch-Entry keys. The coding used may be your own or the patient's social security number plus an "M" or ''F''.

Instrument intelligence means accuracy.
Important operating functions of the E 200 are automatically controlled by the microprocessor. For instance, the microprocessor turns on guide lights that are an element of each Touch-Entry key. These visual indicators progress in sequence during automatic mode operation to tell the operator instantly which lead is being recorded. In semi-automatic modes, the E 200 records the programmed leads, then waits for further Touch-Entry instructions. During manual mode operation, a guide light indicates which lead is being recorded.

In fact, during automatic mode operation, the E 200 locks out incorrect keys, so the chance for operator error is reduced to a minimum.

Interfaces with other Burdick instruments.
The E 200 offers several time-saving automatic functions when interconnected with other Burdick equipment in exercise tolerance testing and monitoring procedures.

EXT-1 Sequencing Timer for ExTOL - The E 200 will print the elapsed minutes as they are displayed on the EXT-1.

AP-1 Auto Proqrammer for ExTOL The E 200 prints the stage protocol level as displayed on the AP-1.

TMS-302 ExTOL Treadmill - The E 200 prints elapsed time in minutes as shown on the TMS-302.

M 200 Two-Channel Cardiac Monitor The E 200 will print DLYD when a delayed IV input is received from the M 200.

IV Input - The E 200 will print EXT (external) when a cable is plugged into the IV input jack, as in ambulatory monitoring.

Program your own ExTOL lead groups.
Logic board switches allow any 3-lead group to be programmed for exercise tolerance test procedures. On standard models, a 3-lead group including Lead 2, aVF and V5 is preselected. You also have the choice of recording standard 12-lead EKGs with runnout, simulated three-channel leads, simulated XYZ leads, standard 12-lead tracings without runnout.

Uses either 5-lead or 10-lead patient cables.
The E 200 offers fully-automatic operation with a 10-lead patient cable; standard equipment. It will also perform in semi-automatic mode with a 5-lead patient cable, recording Leads 1, 2, 3, aVL, aVF and V1 automatically. And the E 200 automatically senses which cable is being used. Either cable may be used for manual operation.

Important self-analysis features reduce retakes to a minimum.
The E 200 microprocessor circuitry performs important self-analysis functions to assure the operator that the EKG tracing is accurate.

Whenever the RESET switch is pressed, the E 200 makes an instantaneous self-analysis of the microprocessor circuitry. An answering "beep" confirms the E 200 is operating correctly. If there's a malfunction, no beep will sound, and retakes are avoided.

When the operator presses the Auto Run and Man Run Touch-Entry keys simultaneously, the E 200 runs an immediate self-check for sensitivity, thermal printhead operation, timing, paper speed, frequency response and low frequency time constants, and prints the results directly on the EKG paper. Note the accompanying sample tracing of this self-check and descriptions of each phase of the test.

Put these tests together and you'll see why "The Easy EKG" reduces retakes due to instrument malfunction to a minimum. Valuable time is saved and diagnosis is enhanced.

Secondary control panel increases EKG versatility.
You have a choice of four sensitivities (1/4X, 1/2X, 1X, 2X) on both limb and precordial leads, allowing maximum latitude to achieve diagnostically usable tracings depending on amplitude of the patient's waveforms. The same control panel offers the operator 25 mm or 50 mm paper speeds, card or folder mounting format, AHA or Filter frequency response and remote-start selection.

Automatic lead marking for fast, accurate identification.
Lead identification with the E 200 is automatic and trouble-free. The same thermal printhead that prints the patient i.d. code also silently prints each lead designation in the upper margin of the EKG paper, plus a one-second time mark which serves as a sure check for correct paper speed. These functions are fully automatic even when the E 200 is used in the manual mode.

Orange Grid/Black Trace paper gives graphic results that last.
Burdick thermally-responsive chemical EKG paper gives excellent tracing contrast and clarity--permanently. It also produces good photocopies. Black grid/black trace paper also available.

Pressure-sensitive mounts speed filing.
Save staff time with Burdick's unique card folder-format mounts. They're pressure-sensitive, so you can mount the complete 12-lead tracing in seconds, ready for filing. Both mounts include space for patient information.
